North Dakota Electric Bike Laws

Three-class law · State parks: Not confirmed

House Bill 1148 (2021) added Class 1, 2 and 3 e-bikes to N.D. Cent. Code 39-01-01 with a 750 W limit, effective August 1, 2021. An e-bike is a bicycle and is excluded from the motor vehicle, motorcycle and motorized bicycle definitions, so no title, registration or license is needed. State law sets no minimum age for any class; riders under 18 must wear a helmet on a Class 3.
